Spike TV’s first original comedy series focuses on four
lifelong friends who live and work in the fictional blue-collar
town of Wetdirt, Ill. Avoiding work — and the ire of bosses,
wives and significant others — are prime story lines of
Factory’s principal characters, along with quaffing beer,
needling one another and endlessly analyzing women.

The six-episode, half-hour comedy is largely improvised,
blending the talents of co-creator Mitch Rouse (Strangers
With Candy) and fellow comedy veterans David Pasquesi
(Exit 57), Jay Leggett (Employee of the Month) and Michael
Coleman (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Sunday’s premiere focuses on the characters’ bonds and their
efforts to undermine one another as they jostle to replace a
supervisor killed after his tie, a birthday gift, sucks him into
a machine, ending the facility’s 499-day injury-free streak.

Upcoming episodes revolve around a bag of marijuana found
on the factory  floor, a used car sold by the local funeral
director and an Annie Leibovitz-style fashion photographer
who comes to town to find models for her Blue Collar Boyz
calendar.
